December 2014
For months Evan complained about his big toe hurting him. We kept brushing him off (poor kid!) and telling him it was fine. I finally took him to his primary and he referred us to a surgeon. After an x-ray and ultrasound on his toe, it was decided that he had a cyst in his toe that needed to be removed. We schedule the surgery on December 19th, the last day of school before Christmas break. He would be on crutches for 3 weeks so we figured this gave him 2 weeks off of school to recoup before he went back on crutches.
He was such a trooper! He was so good and cooperated with everyone. They did a great job of taking care of our little guy. Evan is the first of our children to have surgery. I think mom and dad were more nervous than him!
He then spent most of his Christmas break sitting on the couch, with his foot elevated being and being spoiled. He rather enjoyed it, I think!
